Shawn's Life

Early Years

I joined my family on February 1, 1979 in Provo, Utah. Wendy, Keri, Chris, and TJ were born before me. After I came along, Bryan, Valerie, Alison, and David were born.

We lived in Highland on a dairy farm owned by Grandpa and Grandma Peck, who lived next door. Highland was a very small town - the population was 2,435 in 1980, 15,523 in 2010, and the estimate is 19,183 for 2018.

Some of my earliest memories are riding a tricycle on our sidewalk during summer, picking cups off the kitchen floor so Mom wouldn't trip on them, and babysitting Bryan (in those days, it was okay for kids to babysit younger kids). One day when I was perhaps five or six years old, Mom went downtown (this refers to American Fork, where the store were) to run some errands.

My grandpa, Isaac Mahlon Peck, was a great man. As an only child, he became the boss of the family farm in Lehi when he was xx years old and his father worked there as an employee.
